Although there are various methods for hair removal, the trusted shaver is often a quick go to, for smooth legs.

However if you are using plastic disposable shavers, such as I have for many years, the environmental impact is significant. Although not expensive, they don’t last long, and consequently are thrown out and form a regular part of our waste.

In the United States alone, the EPA has estimated that more than two billion plastic razor blade heads are thrown into landfill each year and this does not even include plastic disposable razors! Shaving cartridges, disposable razors and their packaging include a mix of rubber and plastic which makes them difficult to recycle and destined for landfill.

The mission for me was to find a safety razor, suitable for women, ongoing use and with eco-credentials. After shopping around, I realised there is a broad range on offer with price tags from $30 to $150. I decided to try Lilvio and it just arrived the other day, together with one pack of safety razors. So far I am very impressed with the look and feel and also am looking forward to not having to ever throw out another disposable razor!!
